Feed the Children (Charity logo)Blankets for Babies Campaign
HiPP calls on your support; and donates money for every parcel received

Donate your old baby blankets, Terry nappies and clothes, and HiPP Organic will give 50p to ‘Feed the children’ for every parcel received. HiPP has announced it is supporting ‘Feed the Children’ during 2006 and is launching the ‘Blankets for Babies’ campaign which runs until the end of the year.

The items donated will be sent by ‘Feed the Children’ to needy babies and children within relief projects running in Africa and Asia; including those helping victims of the Pakistan earthquake. Desperately needed items include clean woollen blankets; terry nappies and baby clothes (but not baby grows).

“Every little helps”. Explains Samantha Mort of HiPP Organic. “We urge all mums to dig out their unwanted baby things and send them in for the campaign. Even if it’s just one or two items such as a baby blanket or a couple of terry nappies. Sending something in an A4 envelope will suffice. For every package sent in, HiPP will donate 50 pence to ‘Feed the Children’. The parcels we receive will be sent to stricken regions where simple baby items like this are urgently needed.”

Brian Main from Feed the Children adds “The children and babies in the regions where we send aid, urgently need clothing and blankets for warmth as well as terry nappies which are in such short supply there. Working with HiPP on the ‘Blankets for Babies’ campaign will help to address this. Our aim at ‘Feed the Children’ is to create more opportunities and a brighter future for children who have been neglected, abandoned or exploited as a result of poverty, conflict or disaster. Our work often involves helping families with young babies, as well as helping orphaned infants at our Abandoned Baby Centre in Kenya.”

Items should be sent in the post to: HiPP ‘Blankets for Babies’ campaign, Feed the Children, 2 Tavistock Industrial Estate, Ruscombe Lane, Twyford, Berks, RG10 9NJ.
