Blankets for Babies Campaign
Parents donate clothing and blankets for needy children
and help raise £5000!
Blankets
and baby clothes donated to needy families have also helped
raise £5000 for the charity ‘Feed the Children’,
Hipp Organic announced today.
The ‘Blankets for Babies’ campaign organised by
Hipp, took place during 2006 when parents were asked to send
items by post to ‘Feed the Children’. For
every item received, Hipp Organic gave 50 pence to the charity. The
campaign succeeded in not only generating these much needed
baby items; but also in raising £5000 which has funded
shipment of the items abroad to those families in need.
The
donations were sent by ‘Feed the Children’ to needy
babies and children within relief projects running in Africa
and Asia; including those helping victims of the Pakistan earthquake. Clean
woollen blankets; terry nappies and baby clothes (not baby
grows) are however, still desperately needed.
Hipp has announced it is supporting ‘Feed the Children’ again
throughout 2007 and will be announcing details of the next ‘Blankets
for Babies’ campaign in the coming weeks.
Brian Main from ‘Feed the Children’ comments “Working
with Hipp on the ‘Blankets for Babies’ campaign
was a real success. I want to thank all the parents who
donated so generously. All the clothing and blankets have been
taken to relief projects abroad where they are so desperately
needed and so very much appreciated.”
