Organic
diet for mum & baby gets thumbs up from health visitors
February 2005
93% of health professionals believe that eating organic foods
during pregnancy can benefit both mum and baby research by
HiPP Organic baby foods has revealed.
The survey also revealed that once baby reaches weaning age,
organic is still an important factor. 91% of health visitors
say they are asked for information about organic baby foods
and milks by mothers and 97% of health visitors agreed that
babies can benefit from an organic diet.
Virtually all respondents expressed concern about the exposure
of young babies to environmental contaminants such as pesticides,
and to GM foods.
This research follows the development of a new personal pregnancy
calendar by HiPP Organic, which is designed to help mums understand
the basics of eating healthily and organically during pregnancy.
It’s full of useful facts about baby’s development,
tips on nutrition, and is endorsed by the Soil Association.
The colourful guide also doubles up as a useful appointments
calendar.
