3rd trimester

Don't look now, you're nearly there, and there isn't much longer to wait until your baby arrives! You'll have a lot to think about in the third trimester, including big things like where and how you'd prefer to give birth. If you haven't thought it all out already, though, don't worry – our handy downloadable birth plan will help you think through how you'd like to approach the big day!

Week 28

You're now officially in your third trimester – congratulations! Have you started thinking about names yet?

Week 29

You might be feeling a bit uncomfortable, as there's less and less room inside thanks to your growing baby! There's also a lot of brain growth going on right now, so it's important to keep your diet healthy; we'll give you the inside scoop on what you need in your diet now.

Week 30

Your baby's skin is beginning to develop a protective coating called vernix, which protects and helps keep it from becoming waterlogged in the womb. You might start to notice brief “practice” contractions, where your belly tightens up for a short time.

Week 31

Feeling a bit of heartburn these days? As your baby gets bigger, some things become less comfortable. Here are some hints on dealing with your ever-expanding bump!

Week 32

If you find you're getting breathless & tired more easily at this stage, don't worry. This is normal – after all, you're carrying around a lot more weight than you used to! As your bump gets bigger, your centre of gravity shifts, too, which can make you feel a bit unsteady on your feet.

Week 33

Your baby's head might be starting to move down into your pelvis, which is a good sign – and it gives you more space to breathe! You might need to eat little and often these days due to heartburn, but don't forget to keep it healthy! We've got insider tips on how to pick the healthiest meals, even if you're having a takeaway.

Week 34

By now, you're probably wondering what your labour will be like! Have you packed your bags yet, ready for the birth? We've got a handy downloadable checklist to help make sure you don't forget anything important.

Week 35

Nearly there now! In a few short weeks, things like sleep and “me-time” are going to be in short supply for a while, so you may want to take the opportunity to pamper yourself!

Week 36

You're probably busy preparing for the birth by now, and your baby is getting ready for birth too! Here's what's going on during week 36 of your pregnancy.

Week 37

Your baby is practicing important things like blinking, breathing, swallowing and grasping – and you're probably practicing your relaxation breathing! Not long to go now...

Week 38

If you've been getting Braxton Hicks contractions, they might be getting stronger this week. Is your nesting instinct taking over? Find out more about what happens during week 38 of your pregnancy.

Week 39

The last few weeks of pregnancy can seem like an eternity – there's just no more room inside! Luckily, we have a few tricks to help you get through the waiting game.

Week 40

Your baby is ready for the outside world, but when will the big day arrive? Here's how to tell if that backache might be a sign of impending labour.

Week 41 onwards

We know, you've already waited long enough, but you might just have to wait a little longer! Some babies, especially first babies, wait until after their due date to make an appearance.
