FAQs
Peas and carrots can be introduced as soon as your baby is ready to start weaning. They are great first foods and can be served as a smooth puree or soft, well-cooked finger foods for babies practicing self-feeding.
Yes, as long as your baby is ready for weaning. Pureed carrots or soft-cooked carrot fingers are among the ideal first foods to introduce. They are naturally sweet, easy to digest, and provide essential nutrients like beta-carotene, which supports healthy vision and immune function.
The UK Department of Health recommends starting solids around 6 months of age. While this is a general guideline, every baby is different. It is important to look for signs of readiness rather than relying on an exact age. Babies should not start solids before 17 weeks (4 months), as their digestive system may not yet be ready. If you are unsure, speak to your Health Visitor for guidance.
