Why choose HiPP Organic follow on milk?

Follow on milk is designed to complement a baby’s weaning diet from the age of 6 months onwards if they are not being breastfed. It is nutritionally tailored for little tummies, including added nutrients such as vitamins A, C, D and iron (which contribute to the normal function of the immune system).

But with so many brands available, how do you decide which one is right for your baby?

Sometimes the clue is in the name. If you’re looking for an organic baby formula, our follow on milk is an easy eco choice. With more than 55 years of breastmilk research under our belts, you can be assured that your formula-fed baby is getting everything they need alongside a varied weaning diet from 6 months onwards. Plus we make our follow on milk with gentle organic ingredients (gentle because no pesticides are used in the pastures where our cows graze).

Why choose organic baby milk?

Organic farming avoids the use of chemically synthesised pesticides – for example, on the fields where dairy cows graze. These pesticides can get into the cows’ systems, and be present in their milk. Babies are known to be more susceptible to the effects of pesticide residues, so choosing an organic diet for babies is a good choice.

Organic milk is also produced much more sustainably, with production methods that are more sympathetic to the environment, animal welfare and the world’s resources.

Pioneers in organic farming

We’re super fussy with our ingredients, only choosing the best milk, sourced from farmers we know and trust.

We’re also really careful in our production processes, applying the strictest hygiene and safety standards. We go above and beyond EU organic standards, testing to the strictest possible levels to ensure purity and quality. And all of our milks meet the strict EU nutrition and composition regulations. No wonder we’re the No.1 organic follow on milk in the UK*.

But organic’s not just in our name. It’s in our nature. We’re big on sustainability, animal welfare and biodiversity.

We believe all the little things we do to support the natural world make a big difference to each of us. We care for our cows like members of the family; we only feed them an organic diet, free of GM ingredients, chemicals and pesticides. We also choose farming methods and practices that best protect our species, and our environment.

“The philosophy of our company focuses on the conservation of nature, the respectful treatment of nature’s precious resources, and protection of biodiversity with good reason.” Claus Hipp, organic farming pioneer.

We also care a lot about the way HiPP Organic products are transported from our home to yours. That’s why we always use sustainable packaging materials, plant-based inks on our boxes, and climate positive production. We are committed to making all of our packs fully recyclable by 2025.

Picking a new product can be tricky - especially with the overwhelming choice that awaits you in the supermarket baby aisle! But hopefully, you’ll now have a good understanding of what we stand for and what our follow-on milk can offer your little one – and the world they live in.

HiPP Organic milks are available in all major supermarkets, including Boots and Ocado, and with free delivery on Amazon.

Important notice:

Breastfeeding is best for babies and has many benefits for both you and your baby. It is important that you eat a healthy well-balanced diet in preparation for and during breastfeeding.

If you are considering changing over from breastfeeding or combining breast and bottle feeding, talk to your midwife or health visitor first. Once the decision to stop breastfeeding has been made, it is difficult to go back. Partial bottle feeding with a formula milk may reduce the supply of your breastmilk. The cost and social implications of using formula milk should be considered.

It is important that you follow all usage instructions very carefully. Failure to choose an appropriate feed or to use it correctly can be harmful to your baby’s health.

Follow on milk should only be used as part of a mixed diet from 6 months. Talk to a healthcare professional.
