About the origin
HiPP Organic apples need sufficient precipitation to grow and to mature. In summer, the apples need heat to develop the right balance between sugar content and acidity. When it comes to their requirement for low temperatures, apples are also very delicate. They depend on a period of frost to trigger timely and regular flowering. Frost during flowering, however, is something apple trees cannot bear.
In order to meet our high quality standards all year long, we source our apples from organic orchards in Germany, in Austria, in Georgia, in Hungary, in Poland, in Serbia, in Turkey, and in Ukraine and in exceptional circumstances, also from the southern hemisphere. Wherever possible, we prefer apples from mixed orchards, as they are of great ecological importance for the preservation of old varieties and at the same time, provide an important habitat for insects and birds.
