About the origin

For over 20 years, HiPP Organic banana plants have almost exclusively grown in natural conditions in the highland jungle of Costa Rica. There they grow particularly well, as they like the shade cast by the forest giants, which can be up to 50m tall. In comparison to conventional plantations, the banana plants grow in isolation, far apart from one another and in mixed plantations. This way, pest and disease infested plants can easily be removed and further spreading can be prevented. By farming in harmony with nature, we are preserving the natural habitat of plants and animals and protecting the unique diversity of the jungle. We also obtain our HiPP Organic bananas from Ecuador.
