Did you know?

That the colour of the eggshell has nothing to do with the colour of the hens’ feathers?

The colour of an egg depends on the colour of a chicken’s earlobes. The earlobes can be red, blue or another colour. Chickens with coloured earlobes lay brown eggs, whereas white eggs always come from chickens with white earlobes. The colour of the yolk has also nothing to do with the colour of the eggshell. The yellow colour depends on the hen’s diet and can range from pale yellow to orange.
