About the origin

Millet loves the heat and also thrives well in dry weather. After successful germination, millet is quite robust. It is mostly sown between the end of April and beginning of May. The soil needs to be warm and wet for the millet to thrive. We can find these conditions in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, which is why we grow our HiPP Organic millet in Poland and the Ukraine. Depending on where it grows, the millet is harvested from mid-August. Like wheat, millet is dried, cleaned and stored by the manufacturer after it is harvested. Afterwards, it is shipped out and milled.
