1 HiPP Organic Infant milk, follow on milk and Growing up milk are certified Organic.

2 The organic milk for HiPP is only supplied by farmers who work strictly according to the guidelines of organic farming. Feeding the animals naturally with grass, hay or grain guarantees the best organic quality, from which our nutrient-rich milk is created. This is what makes organic milk so valuable for HiPP milk nutrition. HiPP organic milk is checked by independent control institutes, and In addition, HiPP checks all products for numerous physical and chemical parameters that are even stricter than required by law.

3 Neither GOS or FOS are not an essential composition of infant and follow on formulas, however are proven to be safe and efficacious. GOS has been proven in studies to have a positive effect on the intestinal flora.

Infant Milk

HiPP Organic First Infant Milk is a nutritionally complete, whey-based breastmilk substitute, suitable for babies from birth who are being combination fed or not being breastfed.

HiPP Organic First Infant Milk is certified Organic, and contains GOS and Metafolin®

All infant formulas meet the same legal compositional standards to fulfil the nutritional needs of a healthy baby. However, this does not mean that all manufacturers and all infant formulas are the same.

HiPP have been family run for over 125 years, and have 60+ years of experience in formula feeding.

We have chosen to use organic ingredients for our infant milk; which is not mandated by legislation, and we also voluntarily add other proven beneficial ingredients to reflect evolving science.

HiPP Organic infant milk powder and ready to feed products are certified by both EU & UK Organic certification bodies.

Not just that, but we go above and beyond the minimum requirements of Organic certification by checking for numerous physical and chemical parameters that are even stricter than required in accordance with organic law.

HiPP Organic First Infant milk contains organic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), which are obtained from organic lactose.

GOS is not an essential composition of infant formula under the legislation, however have been proven as safe and efficacious for infants.

GOS has been shown to have a positive effect on the intestinal flora, including promoting the formation of a bifidogenic intestinal flora dominated by lactobacilli, softer stools and a reduction of pH-value in the intestines. 1-4

At HiPP, we choose not to add FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) to our formula milks, because they are obtained from plants (mainly vegetable such as chicory or onions).

The B vitamin folate is involved in RNA and DNA synthesis, and therefore indispensable for both pregnant women and infants;

In the body, folate plays a crucial role in cellular differentiation, regeneration and formation, and has an important role in growth, blood formation and brain development 5,6. For this reason, an adequate folate supply is not only essential for women before and during pregnancy, but also for infants and young children to aid in their growth and development 6,7.

Metafolin (5-MTHF) is the predominant form of naturally occurring folate in the blood 8. Unlike the ‘synthetic’ form, folic acid, Metafolin® doesn’t need to be converted or activated to be utilised by the body. Some people (including infants) cannot convert sufficient amounts of the folic acid into its metabolically active form. The reason for this is a restricted or limited activity of individual enzymes. 9, 10

Until recently, the only form of folate permitted in infant formula was folic acid.

However, following years of safety studies, and application to the authorities by HiPP, in both the EU and UK, the infant and follow-on formula legislation has been amended to allow the use of 5-MTHF/Metafolin, as a source of folate within our infant milk.

Follow on Milk

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk is designed to meet the nutritional needs of older infants from the age of 6 months, as a complement to their weaning diet. It is suitable for babies who are being combination fed or not being breastfed.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk is certified Organic, contains significantly much Iron1 compared to HiPP Organic Infant milk and contains GOS and Metafolin®

All follow on formulas meet the same legal compositional standards to fulfil the nutritional needs of a healthy baby from the age of 6 months. However, this does not mean that all manufacturers and all follow on formulas are the same.

HiPP have been family run for over 125 years, and have 60+ years of experience in formula feeding; with HiPP’s original follow on milklaunched in 1964.

We have chosen to use organic ingredients for our follow on milk; which is not mandated by legislation, and we also voluntarily add other proven beneficial ingredients to reflect evolving science.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk powder and ready to feed products are certified by both EU & UK Organic certification bodies.

Not just that, but we go above and beyond the minimum requirements of Organic certification by checking for numerous physical and chemical parameters that are even stricter than required in accordance with organic law.

Iron contributes to normal cognitive development2.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk contains twice as much Iron compared to HiPP Organic Infant milk1.

Physiological changes in iron metabolism during the first year of life are considerable. Until the age of six months, most infants need little dietary iron as endogenous iron compensates for low intakes. However baby’s iron store reduces throughout the first 6 months of their life and therefore a higher intake during the 2nd half-year of life is recommended3.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk contains vitamin D, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system4.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk contains DHA, which contributes to the normal visual development of infants up to 12 months of age (a beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 100mg of DHA)5.

HiPP Organic Follow on Milk contains organic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), which are obtained from organic lactose.

GOS is not an essential composition of Follow on Formula under the legislation, however have been proven as safe and efficacious for infants.

GOS has been shown to have a positive effect on the intestinal flora, includingpromoting the formation of a bifidogenic intestinal flora dominated by lactobacilli, softer stools and a reduction of pH-value in the intestines. 6-9

At HiPP, we choose not to add FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) to our follow on formula because they are obtained from plants (mainly vegetable such as chicory or onions).

*Iron, vitamin D and DHA are legally required to be added to all follow on formulas.

1 HiPP Organic Follow on Milk contains 1.5mg of Iron per 150ml typical serving, which is 19% of an infants reference nutrient intake. HiPP Organic First Infant Milk contains 0.5mg Iron per 100ml

HiPP Organic Anti Reflux milk tub on a bright kitchen worktop beside a prepared baby bottle, dummy and soft toy

Anti Reflux Milk

HiPP Anti Reflux milk is a food for special medical purposes that should be used under medical supervision for the dietary management of reflux and regurgitation in infants.
It is a nutritionally complete formula that can be used from birth onwards as the sole source of nutrition, or as part of a varied weaning diet for formula fed babies from around six months.

HiPP Anti Reflux milk contains carob bean gum, which thickens the formula and helps feeds stay down.

At HiPP Organic, we have been family run for over 125 years, and have 60+ years of experience in formula feeding.

HiPP Anti Reflux has been carefully developed to support the dietary management of reflux and regurgitation:

  • Natural, tried-and-tested thickening agent
  • Reflux-reducing effect thanks to increased viscosity
  • Documented reflux-reducing effect as an ingredient in anti-reflux formula1-4

Aligns with the NICE recommendations5 for managing frequent infant regurgitation in formula fed babies

The NICE recommendations5 for formula fed infants are to follow the stepped-care approach below, to:

  • review the feeding history, then
    • reduce the feed volumes only if excessive for the infant's weight, then
    • offer a trial of smaller, more frequent feeds (while maintaining an appropriate total daily amount of milk) unless the feeds are already small and frequent, then
    • offer a trial of thickened formula (for example, containing rice starch, cornstarch, locust bean gum or carob bean gum).

Parents should be aware that the preparation instructions for HiPP Anti-Reflux formula differs compared to other HiPP Organic formula milks.

Please be sure to advise parents and carers to follow the instructions on the pack carefully to ensure the correct consistency.

Comfort Milk

HiPP Comfort milk is a food for special medical purposes that should be used under medical supervision for the dietary management of colic and constipation in infants.

It is a nutritionally complete formula that can be used from birth onwards as the sole source of nutrition, or as part of a varied weaning diet for formula fed babies from around six months.

HiPP Comfort milk contains hydrolysed whey protein, reduced levels of lactose alongside Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS).

At HiPP Organic, we have been family run for over 125 years, and have 60+ years of experience in formula feeding.

HiPP Comfort has been carefully developed to support the dietary management of colic and constipation:

  • Contains whey hydrolysed protein – research has shown fewer gastro-intestinal symptoms and crying when protein hydrolysate is given1,2
  • Reduced lactose content reduces wind and crying time in infants with colic3-5

HiPP Organic Growing up Milk contains Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), which are obtained from lactose.

GOS has been shown to have a positive effect on the intestinal flora, including promoting the formation of a bifidogenic intestinal flora dominated by lactobacilli, softer stools and a reduction of pH-value in the intestines.6-9

At HiPP, we choose not to add FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) to our growing up milk because they are obtained from plants (mainly vegetable such as chicory or onions).
