Did you know?

That millet is the oldest known cereal?

Originally, millet comes from Asia and the countries of the North African Mediterranean area, where millet-based bread was already produced 8,000 years ago. In the beginning of the 20th century, millet was also popular in Germany, but was later replaced by the potato among other things. So in Germany, the knowledge of how millet is grown was lost. In Eastern Europe, on the other hand, growing millet is still common today.
