Austria

Austria lies in Central Europe and stretches from Lake Constance to Lake Neusiedler See. The landscape is mostly characterised by the Alps and their deep valleys. In the centre of the Alps there is the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in the country, and the Pasterze, the largest glacier in Europe. Austria lies in the transitional zone between the continental and the Atlantic climates. In the mountains the climate is predominately alpine. This means there is a lot of precipitation and short summers followed by long and snowy winters. Dense forests are also typical of Austria. In the agricultural areas, HiPP grows some of its organic carrots and organic potatoes. But also fruit, such as HiPP Organic apples and HiPP Organic pears, thrive in the Austrian climate.
