About the origin

A lot of people instantly associate rice with Asia. Our HiPP Organic rice, however, is not cultivated just in Asia but primarily in European countries such as Italy, France, Spain and Hungary. The climate is the decisive factor. Organic rice prefers subtropical or tropical conditions – warm summers with strong sunshine and a very wet environment. This is why rice is often planted in river deltas or in close proximity to water sources which ensure the necessary flooding of the fields. In Europe, harvest starts at the end of September. Additionally, we obtain our organic HiPP rice in smaller amounts from Mexico, Pakistan and Thailand.
